Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 4.05% or 0.680 points to trade at 17.540 at the close. Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.93% or 0.850 points to end at 44.810 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 1.48% or 2.640 points to 181.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 3.07% or 5.910 points to trade at 187.170 in late trade. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 2.80% or 1.040 points to end at 36.060 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 2.32% or 4.090 points to 172.510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 2.29% or 26.90 to $1201.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.78% or 0.45 to hit $56.70 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.60 to trade at $64.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.17% to 15.3527, while EUR/MXN fell 0.04% to 16.7141.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.89.
