Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Software & Computer Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 11.53% or 0.19 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 3.53% or 0.22 points to end at 6.46 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) was up 2.85% or 0.89 points to 32.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which lost 16.47% or 4.1 points to trade at 21.0 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 4.56% or 0.83 points to end at 17.38 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) shed 3.56% or 0.3 points to 8.7.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 73 and 22 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.70% or 0.76 to $45.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.97% or 0.91 to hit $47.17 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 14.05 to trade at $1329.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.58% to 9.2916, while USD/NOK fell 0.77% to 8.3635.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.16.
