Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 10.00% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 9.96% or 1.30 points to end at 14.35 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 3.77% or 0.060 points to 1.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which lost 4.76% or 0.60 points to trade at 12.00 in late trade. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) declined 4.44% or 2.20 points to end at 47.30 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) shed 3.51% or 0.020 points to 0.550.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 39 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.17% or 0.12 to $68.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.37% or 0.28 to hit $76.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.90 to trade at $1216.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.11% to 419.710, while USD/NGN rose 0.21% to 361.350.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 94.63.
