Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.84% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 0.61% or 0.0950 points to trade at 15.6450 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.18% or 0.0050 points to end at 2.8340 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 0.07% or 0.0040 points to 6.1000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 2.78% or 0.1410 points to trade at 4.9270 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 2.14% or 0.009 points to end at 0.411 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.96% or 0.0170 points to 0.8490.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 1.21% or 0.62 to $50.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.67% or 0.81 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1203.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.0634, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8741.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.39.
