Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.41% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.26% or 0.34 points to trade at 27.32 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 0.87% or 0.36 points to end at 41.70 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 0.54% or 0.24 points to 44.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 5.42% or 39.00 points to trade at 681.00 in late trade. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 3.58% or 1.56 points to end at 42.00 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) shed 3.26% or 3.50 points to 103.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.18% or 1.51 to $67.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.17% or 1.58 to hit $71.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.56% or 14.20 to trade at $2,528.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.20.
