Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Materials and Food Producers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which rose 0.91% or 0.25 points to trade at 27.65 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 0.80% or 1.35 points to end at 170.00 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.58% or 0.02 points to 3.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 2.56% or 0.63 points to trade at 23.98 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 2.48% or 2.75 points to end at 108.00 and Prosus (AS:PRX) shed 2.11% or 0.73 points to 33.64.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 38 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.20% or 0.16 to $80.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.14% or 0.12 to hit $84.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 18.50 to trade at $2,439.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.85.
