Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which rose 0.57% or 0.24 points to trade at 42.68 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 0.33% or 0.40 points to end at 121.95 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was down 0.15% or 0.12 points to 81.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.18% or 0.44 points to trade at 19.70 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 2.14% or 0.95 points to end at 43.36 and Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) shed 2.01% or 0.11 points to 5.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 32 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 4.34% or 2.98 to $65.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.79% or 2.72 to hit $69.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 7.45 to trade at $2,540.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.64.
