Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which rose 2.03% or 0.88 points to trade at 44.27 at the close. Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) added 1.76% or 0.09 points to end at 5.45 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.71% or 0.06 points to 3.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which lost 3.20% or 3.55 points to trade at 107.25 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 2.23% or 16.40 points to end at 720.00 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 2.08% or 3.20 points to 150.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 48 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.36% or 0.25 to $69.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.26 to hit $72.96 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 12.70 to trade at $2,538.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.11.
