Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Food Producers and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 1.76% or 0.28 points to trade at 16.21 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 0.83% or 0.35 points to end at 42.60 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.80% or 1.25 points to 157.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which lost 2.09% or 27.40 points to trade at 1,284.60 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 1.92% or 14.10 points to end at 719.90 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) shed 1.68% or 1.90 points to 111.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 39 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.43% or 0.97 to $68.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.23% or 0.88 to hit $72.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 2.00 to trade at $2,608.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 100.41.
