Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.75% or 3.50 points to trade at 130.60 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 1.75% or 0.68 points to end at 39.49 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 1.33% or 7.40 points to 564.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.42% or 0.21 points to trade at 14.72 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 1.21% or 0.84 points to end at 68.32 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 1.21% or 0.04 points to 3.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 44 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.74% or 1.23 to $69.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $72.81 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.44% or 37.49 to trade at $2,645.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 107.39.
