Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Construction & Materials and Support Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 4.18% or 27.80 points to trade at 693.20 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 1.69% or 2.55 points to end at 153.70 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.43% or 0.64 points to 45.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which lost 2.98% or 1.74 points to trade at 56.60 in late trade. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 2.29% or 26.00 points to end at 1,108.80 and Prosus (AS:PRX) shed 1.41% or 0.47 points to 32.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 39 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.13% or 1.67 to $76.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.87% or 1.54 to hit $80.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 10.80 to trade at $2,405.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.19.
