Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 0.87% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.62 at the close. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) added 0.59% or 0.30 points to end at 51.50 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.52% or 0.80 points to 153.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which lost 2.99% or 34.00 points to trade at 1,104.20 in late trade. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) declined 1.50% or 0.42 points to end at 27.61 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) shed 1.46% or 0.36 points to 24.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.97% or 0.81 to $82.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.75 to hit $85.79 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.53% or 36.60 to trade at $2,361.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.62.
