Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB), which rose 1.69% or 0.73 points to trade at 44.00 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.03% or 2.10 points to end at 206.60 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.99% or 0.176 points to 17.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 1.64% or 0.092 points to trade at 5.508 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.48% or 0.238 points to end at 15.830 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 1.17% or 0.345 points to 29.225.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 60 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.34% to 12.80 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $64.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.50 to trade at $1339.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.2429, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8757.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 88.88.
