Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 3.91% or 0.87 points to trade at 23.11 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 1.90% or 0.71 points to end at 38.05 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 1.72% or 0.094 points to 5.556 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which lost 2.69% or 1.13 points to trade at 40.90 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.62% or 0.56 points to end at 33.73 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) shed 0.71% or 1.10 points to 153.64.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.61% to 14.22 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.65% or 1.19 to hit $70.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1224.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 96.20.
