Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.98% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 5.31% or 36.80 points to trade at 729.40 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.32% or 22.40 points to end at 988.90 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) was up 1.90% or 2.50 points to 134.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR), which lost 0.27% or 0.14 points to trade at 52.40 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 28.17 and Prosus (AS:PRX) shed 0.01% or 0.01 points to 34.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 28 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.21% or 0.17 to $80.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.31% or 0.26 to hit $85.33 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.84% or 19.70 to trade at $2,366.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 105.26.
