Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 2.97% or 1.18 points to trade at 40.90 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.95% or 3.25 points to end at 113.50 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 2.20% or 12.80 points to 594.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which lost 1.64% or 2.00 points to trade at 120.00 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.25% or 0.39 points to end at 30.86 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 0.97% or 0.43 points to 43.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 49 to 47 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.33% or 0.23 to $70.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.27% or 0.20 to hit $73.76 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.67% or 18.05 to trade at $2,672.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 101.26.
