Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 4.43% or 1.25 points to trade at 29.46 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) added 3.84% or 2.38 points to end at 64.40 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 3.46% or 1.50 points to 44.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx PLC (AS:REL), which lost 0.70% or 0.30 points to trade at 42.80 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 0.60% or 0.02 points to end at 3.67 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.55% or 0.09 points to 16.37.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 32 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.99% or 0.67 to $68.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.76% or 0.54 to hit $71.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 23.60 to trade at $2,671.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 100.21.
