Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 4.78% or 30.30 points to trade at 664.50 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.78% or 2.80 points to end at 103.70 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 2.18% or 0.84 points to 39.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx PLC (AS:REL), which lost 1.25% or 0.56 points to trade at 44.36 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.21% or 1.95 points to end at 159.00 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) shed 0.74% or 0.23 points to 30.73.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.85% or 1.31 to $69.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.76% or 1.31 to hit $73.14 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.92% or 24.90 to trade at $2,732.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.39.
