Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 4.60% or 25.40 points to trade at 577.00 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.37% or 3.05 points to end at 131.55 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.98% or 13.90 points to 717.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which lost 1.34% or 0.76 points to trade at 56.12 in late trade. Prosus (AS:PRX) declined 1.07% or 0.43 points to end at 39.92 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) shed 1.03% or 1.03 points to 99.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.60% or 0.42 to $70.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.75 to hit $73.94 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 10.06 to trade at $2,651.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.85.
