Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Construction & Materials and Food Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 1.42% or 13.40 points to trade at 960.00 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 1.32% or 0.56 points to end at 43.14 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.23% or 1.90 points to 155.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN), which lost 2.20% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.77 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 1.93% or 1.80 points to end at 91.58 and Prosus (AS:PRX) shed 1.84% or 0.63 points to 33.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 42 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.51% or 0.41 to $81.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.40% or 0.34 to hit $84.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.08% or 24.95 to trade at $2,338.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.54.
