Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Construction & Materials and Food Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which rose 2.53% or 1.11 points to trade at 45.00 at the close. Exor NV (AS:EXOR) added 2.16% or 2.10 points to end at 99.35 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.82% or 0.28 points to 15.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which lost 2.70% or 19.20 points to trade at 690.80 in late trade. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 2.28% or 3.50 points to end at 149.75 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) shed 1.55% or 14.90 points to 948.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 31 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.99% or 0.80 to $81.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.89% or 0.75 to hit $85.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 9.95 to trade at $2,341.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
