Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.60% or 3.90 points to trade at 153.65 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 1.15% or 1.06 points to end at 93.56 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 0.69% or 4.80 points to 695.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 3.14% or 0.77 points to trade at 23.78 in late trade. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 2.88% or 1.31 points to end at 44.15 and Prosus (AS:PRX) shed 1.84% or 0.64 points to 33.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.56% or 0.46 to $81.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.65% or 0.55 to hit $84.60 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 7.60 to trade at $2,336.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.35.
