Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Transport, Telecoms and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Services and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.06%, while the ADX General index declined 2.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 6.79% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.730 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 5.79% or 0.029 points to end at 0.530 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 2.50% or 0.024 points to 0.984 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 4.21% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.820 in late trade. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) declined 2.77% or 0.08 points to end at 2.81 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) shed 2.14% or 0.030 points to 1.370.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 7.00% to 7.49, Methaq (AD:METH) which was up 5.68% to settle at 0.930 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which gained 4.40% to close at 0.95.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.75% to 2.87 in late trade, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which lost 6.64% to settle at 11.95 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 4.13% to 7.42 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 8 declined, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $41.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $41.42 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.71% or 9.00 to trade at $1256.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.43% to 4.1392.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.07.
