Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 2.70% or 0.61 points to trade at 23.19 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 1.55% or 5.22 points to end at 341.08 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 1.22% or 3.71 points to 306.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which lost 4.49% or 6.38 points to trade at 135.70 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) declined 4.41% or 0.45 points to end at 9.76 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) shed 2.98% or 0.39 points to 12.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 192 to 55 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.51% or 35.45 to $2,319.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.60% or 0.47 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.37 to trade at $82.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.47% to 18.45, while EUR/MXN fell 2.17% to 19.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.81.
