Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB), which rose 1.72% or 2.33 points to trade at 137.70 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 1.63% or 0.19 points to end at 11.82 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) was up 0.38% or 0.12 points to 31.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which lost 3.29% or 1.93 points to trade at 56.73 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 3.13% or 5.50 points to end at 170.00 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) shed 3.10% or 1.41 points to 44.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 116 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.23% or 5.45 to $2,426.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $80.82 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.22 to trade at $84.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.79% to 17.75, while EUR/MXN rose 0.56% to 19.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 103.93.
