Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which rose 4.15% or 1.30 points to trade at 32.47 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) added 0.58% or 1.20 points to end at 207.63 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was up 0.46% or 0.79 points to 170.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which lost 4.00% or 5.67 points to trade at 135.93 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) declined 3.26% or 0.40 points to end at 11.94 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) shed 3.06% or 7.92 points to 250.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 116 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.06% or 26.90 to $2,520.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.46% or 1.05 to hit $72.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $77.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 19.51, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 101.39.
