Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.45% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 2.54% or 0.700 points to trade at 28.240 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.51% or 1.250 points to end at 50.980 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.29% or 0.150 points to 11.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which lost 4.31% or 2.280 points to trade at 50.650 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 3.76% or 2.570 points to end at 65.710 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 3.09% or 1.890 points to 59.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 225 to 110 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.38% or 4.90 to $1298.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.50% or 1.02 to hit $66.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $75.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.21% to 19.8316, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 22.8748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 94.82.
