Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 2.04% or 2.65 points to trade at 132.11 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) added 1.80% or 5.48 points to end at 311.41 and Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) was up 1.59% or 2.33 points to 148.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which lost 2.72% or 6.96 points to trade at 250.12 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 2.59% or 0.33 points to end at 12.41 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) shed 2.34% or 8.97 points to 375.16.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 97 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.16% or 53.80 to $2,546.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.00% or 1.56 to hit $76.60 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 1.34 to trade at $79.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 18.64, while EUR/MXN rose 0.46% to 20.56.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 102.25.
