Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 1.84% or 0.31 points to trade at 17.15 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 1.69% or 2.21 points to end at 133.21 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 1.59% or 0.250 points to 15.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 5.09% or 1.010 points to trade at 18.850 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 4.51% or 3.24 points to end at 68.67 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) shed 3.26% or 3.11 points to 92.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 168 to 137 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.35% or 4.60 to $1326.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.73% or 0.45 to hit $61.34 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $65.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.00% to 18.8348, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.1301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 90.03.
