Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.01% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 7.11% or 16.090 points to trade at 241.150 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 2.29% or 4.320 points to end at 193.500 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) was up 1.52% or 0.880 points to 58.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 8.47% or 0.680 points to trade at 7.320 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.82% or 0.500 points to end at 12.610 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) shed 2.73% or 2.900 points to 103.470.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 56 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1152.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.31% or 0.12 to hit $40.83 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.01 to trade at $46.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.98% to 16.7856, while EUR/MXN rose 2.08% to 18.8664.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.75.
