Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecommunication Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which rose 3.27% or 1.400 points to trade at 44.100 at the close. Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) added 3.23% or 0.420 points to end at 13.400 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 2.83% or 2.190 points to 79.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 2.54% or 2.270 points to trade at 87.380 in late trade. Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.75% or 7.730 points to end at 432.380 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 1.70% or 0.640 points to 37.090.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 58 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.10% or 12.90 to $1181.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in May rose 2.02% or 0.92 to hit $46.45 a barrel, while the May Brent Oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.77 to trade at $55.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.44% to 15.0600, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 16.2949.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.41% at 98.05.
