Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 5.12% or 1.360 points to trade at 27.910 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 4.85% or 0.650 points to end at 14.050 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 4.34% or 3.840 points to 92.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which lost 3.34% or 0.830 points to trade at 24.030 in late trade. Grupo Cementos De Chihuahua (MX:GCC) declined 2.29% or 2.320 points to end at 98.990 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) shed 2.19% or 0.530 points to 23.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 138 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1253.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 7.39% or 3.71 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 5.54% or 3.30 to trade at $56.31 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 20.0848, while EUR/MXN rose 0.20% to 22.8295.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 96.507.
