Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 5.69% or 0.96 points to trade at 17.84 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 3.36% or 1.49 points to end at 45.85 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 3.20% or 0.35 points to 11.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which lost 0.66% or 0.98 points to trade at 147.24 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) declined 0.38% or 0.57 points to end at 150.79 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) shed 0.35% or 0.62 points to 176.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 102 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.31% or 31.45 to $2,366.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.07% or 0.89 to hit $82.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.86 to trade at $85.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.52% to 18.00, while EUR/MXN fell 0.39% to 19.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.68.
