Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 5.24% or 0.690 points to trade at 13.870 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 4.23% or 0.980 points to end at 24.170 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 3.93% or 0.58 points to 15.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 1.48% or 0.38 points to trade at 25.24 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 1.19% or 0.65 points to end at 54.05 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) shed 1.07% or 2.36 points to 218.89.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 161 to 144 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1332.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $65.47 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $69.82 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.01% to 18.4393, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 22.7562.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 89.28.
