Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.83% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which rose 3.51% or 2.17 points to trade at 64.06 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 3.21% or 0.57 points to end at 18.30 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 2.82% or 9.61 points to 350.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which lost 2.75% or 0.67 points to trade at 23.70 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) declined 1.83% or 0.81 points to end at 43.36 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) shed 1.82% or 0.57 points to 30.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 126 to 82 and 21 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.31% or 7.30 to $2,370.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.70% or 0.58 to hit $81.75 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.79 to trade at $84.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.48% to 17.91, while EUR/MXN fell 0.63% to 19.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 104.80.
