Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which rose 4.67% or 1.360 points to trade at 30.500 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 3.10% or 6.17 points to end at 205.26 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO) was up 2.01% or 0.930 points to 47.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 3.05% or 0.500 points to trade at 15.890 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.04% or 17.41 points to end at 836.01 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 1.10% or 0.630 points to 56.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 145 to 136 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.31% or 3.70 to $1192.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.26% or 2.39 to hit $75.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.91% or 2.41 to trade at $85.14 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.06% to 18.7082, while EUR/MXN fell 0.26% to 21.6648.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.92.
