Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which rose 3.46% or 1.325 points to trade at 39.595 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 3.79% or 3.41 points to end at 93.31 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 2.73% or 3.32 points to 124.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which lost 1.20% or 1.055 points to trade at 86.955 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 0.71% or 0.14 points to end at 19.46 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 0.57% or 0.180 points to 31.410.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 68 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.40 to $1226.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.28% or 0.88 to hit $68.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.51 to trade at $72.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.33% to 18.5777, while EUR/MXN fell 0.29% to 21.5448.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.82.
