Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which rose 3.20% or 1.73 points to trade at 55.80 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) added 2.77% or 2.66 points to end at 98.71 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was up 2.20% or 0.37 points to 17.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which lost 3.98% or 7.70 points to trade at 185.98 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) declined 2.83% or 0.31 points to end at 10.66 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) shed 2.49% or 0.58 points to 22.67.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 114 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 1.20 to $2,335.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $81.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.32 to trade at $84.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 18.33, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 19.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 105.57.
