Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 5.27% or 3.370 points to trade at 67.280 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.69% or 2.01 points to end at 121.09 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.52% or 7.95 points to 531.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 3.20% or 0.550 points to trade at 16.650 in late trade. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 2.36% or 2.040 points to end at 84.510 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.00% or 0.43 points to 21.09.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 160 to 146 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.30 to $1302.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.45% or 0.30 to hit $66.66 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.68 to trade at $76.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 20.6873, while EUR/MXN rose 0.23% to 24.3855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.59.
