Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.00% or 6.65 points to trade at 139.59 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 3.29% or 5.31 points to end at 166.64 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 2.58% or 7.47 points to 297.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which lost 4.28% or 6.64 points to trade at 148.36 in late trade. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) declined 3.57% or 6.63 points to end at 178.87 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) shed 2.68% or 0.48 points to 17.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 167 to 81 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.69% or 16.50 to $2,392.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.00% or 1.48 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 1.45 to trade at $79.86 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 2.63% to 17.95, while EUR/MXN rose 2.70% to 19.55.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 104.07.
