Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.81% or 19.42 points to trade at 529.49 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 2.69% or 3.18 points to end at 121.37 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 1.78% or 0.300 points to 17.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 2.23% or 0.45 points to trade at 19.72 in late trade. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 1.99% or 1.120 points to end at 55.120 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) shed 1.94% or 6.19 points to 313.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 216 to 121 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.23% or 2.90 to $1267.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.67% or 0.46 to hit $68.12 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.54 to trade at $74.78 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.58% to 19.9021, while EUR/MXN fell 0.17% to 23.2920.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.95.
