Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.56% or 0.620 points to trade at 18.050 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.32% or 6.700 points to end at 295.380 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) was up 1.90% or 3.450 points to 184.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 2.44% or 0.300 points to trade at 11.990 in late trade. Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) declined 2.16% or 1.250 points to end at 56.510 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) shed 2.29% or 0.550 points to 23.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 78 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.20 to $1274.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.86% or 0.40 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.23 to trade at $47.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.19% to 18.1758, while EUR/MXN rose 0.50% to 20.5447.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 94.61.
