Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 3.40% or 3.52 points to trade at 106.96 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.98% or 2.48 points to end at 128.02 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 1.79% or 0.39 points to 22.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 1.76% or 0.660 points to trade at 36.920 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 1.72% or 0.400 points to end at 22.870 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 1.62% or 13.56 points to 823.73.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 173 to 99 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.51 to $1274.31 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.05% to 18.2223, while EUR/MXN rose 0.09% to 21.4098.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.40.
