The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 2.22% or 0.53 points to trade at 24.40 at the close. Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) added 2.06% or 0.25 points to end at 12.60 and Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) was up 2.06% or 1.03 points to 50.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which lost 2.71% or 0.69 points to trade at 24.80 in late trade. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) declined 0.21% or 0.21 points to end at 99.94 and Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN) 0.03% or 0.00 points to 7.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 367 to 147 and 51 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.85% or 0.59 to $70.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.78% or 0.57 to hit $73.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.90% or 23.81 to trade at $2,630.09 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 107.88.
