Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which rose 3.95% or 2.28 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) added 1.15% or 0.12 points to end at 10.56 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 0.99% or 0.22 points to 22.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which lost 2.25% or 0.88 points to trade at 38.21 in late trade. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) declined 1.81% or 0.16 points to end at 8.49 and Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI) shed 1.80% or 0.43 points to 23.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 294 to 185 and 49 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.21% or 1.00 to $81.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.27% or 1.09 to hit $84.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 5.60 to trade at $2,369.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 104.83.
