Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which rose 4.37% or 1.23 points to trade at 29.40 at the close. Recordati (BIT:RECI) added 3.13% or 1.53 points to end at 50.35 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) was up 2.81% or 0.26 points to 9.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI), which lost 3.16% or 0.23 points to trade at 7.04 in late trade. Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) declined 2.78% or 0.63 points to end at 22.01 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (BIT:FBK) shed 2.73% or 0.44 points to 15.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 263 to 221 and 49 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.55% or 2.65 to $77.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.04% or 2.37 to hit $80.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 16.35 to trade at $2,468.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.96.
