Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Financials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 1.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL), which rose 4.04% or 86 points to trade at 2214 at the close. Leumi (TA:LUMI) added 3.68% or 87 points to end at 2451 and First International Bank of Israel Ltd (TA:FTIN) was up 3.63% or 300 points to 8568 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azrieli Group Ltd (TA:AZRG), which lost 1.37% or 260 points to trade at 18730 in late trade. Alony Hetz Properties and Investments Ltd (TA:ALHE) declined 0.89% or 32 points to end at 3566 and Sodastream International Ltd (TA:SODA) shed 0.80% or 430.0 points to 53280.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 190 to 182 and 41 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.92% or 1.47 to $51.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 3.01% or 1.78 to hit $60.82 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1229.20 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.65% to 3.7126, while EUR/ILS fell 0.68% to 4.2103.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.898.
