Investing.com – India equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, IT and Power sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Metals, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.03%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 4.70% or 111.85 points to trade at 2492.00 at the close. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) added 4.66% or 34.10 points to end at 765.80 and Lupin Ltd (NS:LUPN) was up 4.24% or 37.85 points to 931.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which lost 5.04% or 18.25 points to trade at 343.50 in late trade. Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) declined 2.63% or 182.10 points to end at 6747.80 and Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) shed 2.57% or 32.80 points to 1241.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which rose 2.87% to 267.10, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was up 2.63% to settle at 142.20 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which gained 2.37% to close at 200.60.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 5.11% to 343.40 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 2.60% to settle at 1240.95 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was down 1.75% to 965.25 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 821 to 768 and 66 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1351 rose and 1180 declined, while 164 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.49% to 12.5975.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 7.20 to $1212.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $69.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.41 to trade at $77.61 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.22% to 70.910, while EUR/INR rose 0.17% to 82.6995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.66.
