Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 20.69% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.0700 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 12.60% or 0.016 points to end at 0.143 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was up 4.06% or 0.200 points to 5.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which lost 4.85% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.098 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 3.77% or 0.110 points to end at 2.810 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 3.65% or 0.050 points to 1.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 37 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.57% or 7.10 to $1247.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.54% or 0.40 to hit $73.75 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.70% or 1.35 to trade at $77.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.1594, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8838.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 94.86.
