Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 16.87% or 0.7000 points to trade at 4.8500 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 6.01% or 0.070 points to end at 1.235 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 5.94% or 0.045 points to 0.803 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intralot (AT:INLr), which lost 4.44% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.430 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 4.22% or 0.005 points to end at 0.113 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 3.88% or 0.0195 points to 0.4830.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.38% or 4.80 to $1263.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.75 to trade at $53.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1415, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.9005.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 96.107.
